Cleaning the vacuum cleaner filter is an important step in maintaining the performance of the vacuum cleaner. The following are the general steps for cleaning the filter element, please refer to your vacuum cleaner manual for specific operations:
- turn off the vacuum cleaner power and unplug: before cleaning the filter element, ensure that the vacuum cleaner has been turned off and unplug the power to prevent accidental start.
- take out the filter element: open the filter element bin of the vacuum cleaner, usually need to press the buckle or rotate the filter element bin. Remove the filter element carefully.
- Tap the filter element: Tap the filter element on the trash can to remove dust and debris on the surface. You can use a soft brush to gently brush off the attached dust.
- wash with water: if the filter element is washable, it can be washed under warm water. Please do not use hot water or detergent. Gently squeeze the filter by hand to help remove dust from inside.
- dry the filter: put the filter in a cool, ventilated place to dry naturally. Make sure the filter element is completely dry before reinstalling, which usually takes 24 hours or more. Do not use a hair dryer or other heating device to speed up the drying process, as high temperatures may damage the filter material.
- Reinstall the filter element: After the filter element is completely dry, install it back to the vacuum cleaner to ensure firm installation.
- Replace the filter element regularly: even if it is cleaned regularly, the filter element will lose its filtering effect over time. According to the frequency of use, regular replacement of the filter element is the key to maintaining efficient operation of the vacuum cleaner.
